Thank you for adding subtitles to the trailer. Wow. looks amazing... How this did not win the Grammy! Just shows how full of bullshit the Grammys are amazing cover and beyond powerful performance. Meanwhile, vocal coaches are pausing the video every vowel he makes. The concept is copied. we already have a movie called soundtrack years back with same concept. This vid is so metal. Riz look like maluma here.
His voice is astonishing. The way Conan gets up and claps at the beginning and because he doesn't go out and shake their hands makes me think they recorded this earlier in the day. This is a FAR CRY from Down with the Sickness I had on repeat in high school but damn, so good. This is one of the greatest trailers for a film I've seen in my life. This is now my most anticipated movie after Dune. Why is nobody talking about 1:07. I've never heard the band Disturbed, but this guy has a golden voice. incredibly emotional. amazing... Zvuk metal gear solid. Finally! An original script. Its so nice to see something that is NOT a “remake” or “redo” or “reboot”! Thanks Amazon. looking forward to this one.
This guy was awesome in Nightcrawler. While going about my chores yesterday, I heard Simon & Garfunkel's original version. With all that's going on now, I had to stop what I was doing. Listening to it brought tears to my eyes. Paul Simon's lyrics are genius. I love the simplicity of the 1964 folk version. Today, I discovered Disturbed's lush and beautifully orchestrated version. Again, I found myself crying. The Sounds of Silence, the lyrics have profound meaning now, 56 years later. I am a old fart and this version is so much better than the S&G version of my youth it has the angst that the lyrics deserve. Nice. This is a helluva of a role. About time for a metal movie. Brother Omar. Zvuk metal archives.
Ive been waiting for this film to drop! I watched Rizs interview about the film and was immediately intrigued.
So can I use it and I don't need to credit the artists.
To rhe people who disliked this, you are wrong. Absolutely 100% wrong.
Looks really gooooood.
The world's anthem as the world shuts down for awhile due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19.
The Pentatonix cover of 'Sound of Silence' was about the blending of their voices in the tune. The message of the lyrics was an afterthought. David Draiman/Disturbed gave us a triple whammy that slams into every viewers soul. The message was in his voice, the emotions that he put into the music. The message was in the video. The message was in the lyrics originally written by Paul Simon. But it took David Draiman to put everything together into a Perfect Storm.
I just realised ive been taking my ability to hear for granted.
I love the man on the piano. He has rocker written all over him and strikes me as this big tough looking guy but is playing a delicate instrument with a gentle touch.
This song legitimately gets you through all the stages of grief in 4 minutes.
Zvuk metal alchemist.
I was incredibly fortunate to have seen Sound of Metal at the Toronto International Film Festival including a Q&A after with the director and cast. Whereas a lot of films may take the storyline into melodramatic territory, Sound of Metal explores not only the reality of those who are deaf which is so poorly represented in film and television but also the destructive nature and high cost of denial and self-deception in the face of hard truths.
By focusing on someone whose entire existence revolves around a world of sound losing that which defines his life, it gives the viewer pause to consider what life can be like when we learn to accept and let go. There is so much more to life than the small corners of existence we live in and this film paints that reality with both tremendous empathy and a bluntness that lesser writers and directors would avoid.
In addition, one really has to commend the direction and design of this film's audio. It is clear that a great deal of thought went into how to use sound in this film. From the in-your-face pounding of metal music at the start through the muffled reality as the protagonist loses his hearing to the sense of peace in the moments of silence, it is clear that a great deal of painstaking detail was crafted in conveying this film's reality.
Sound of Metal is one of those films which will keep you thinking for days after about so many aspects of life such as addiction and how some relationships may simply serve a purpose in the short term for our life but ultimately must be let go. How it illuminates aspects of the deaf community that few get a chance to see is important. But there is so much more to this film that to pigeonhole it as merely being about deaf people does a grand disservice to the many fantastic qualities in every aspect of its creation. I highly recommend taking the time to watch this film.
Thank you so much for posting this its perfect.
